Siamese Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi there! My name is Ellie, and I am a beautiful blue-cream lynx-point Siamese/ Snowshoe mix gal with dazzling blue Liz-Taylor eyes and a tabby tail who was born June 2015. I'll never know how a sweet girl like me ended up at a kill-shelter, but I'm just grateful that my future Buster's Friends' foster meowmy spotted me and rescued me out of there! A shelter is no place for fabulous feline like me who is as friendly and affectionate as I am! When I first arrived at my foster home, I was covered with fleas, had bald patches from the flea dermatitis, and was really skinny. My foster meowmy knew just what to do to treat the fleas so my fur ... (Read More)would grow back, and she gave me plenty of groceries to help me put on a few pounds. Now I'm svelte, happy, healthy, and ready for a home of my own. I'm loving and attentive with adults, but sometimes loud noises or fast movements scare me, so my foster meowmy thinks I should not go to a home with loud young children. I get along great with the other foster kitties too! I haven't been around the resident dog in my foster home, but foster meowmy assures interested dog-owning adopters that she can certainly try me out! I just want a home where I'll be loved and cherished forever! No more shelters for me! I promise to reciprocate by batting my irresistible baby-blue peepers at you and pouring on you all my love and affection with all my heart. Why don't you come meet me today? Ellie is updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for her indoor-only home. No de-clawing permitted. Her adoption fee is $100, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Ellie, and we can let you know exactly where you can meet her.     A big Texas howdy to you! My name is Tundra, and I'm an ultra-sweet, friendly 70-pound Great Pyrenees mix fella who was born about July 2016. I'm a happy, happy boy who just loves everyone who either has two or four legs. Things have not always been so idyllic for me as I had rather hardscrabble beginnings. I can't remember how I got separated from my first owner, but believe it or not, I was rescued from roaming the streets, fending for myself for food, and trying to avoid getting run over. Imagine -- a handsome boy like me who's homeless. That just shouldn't be. Fortunately a Good Samaritan spotted me and took me to my foster home to help ... (Read More)me find my lifetime companion. Thank heavens that I'm safe now and that my food as well as water bowls are brimming full. However, as much as I like my new digs, I want a home of my very own. I'm all 'fixed up,' already housebroken, and ready for adoption. I shouldn't have a hard time finding my lifetime home because I'd be such a great dog for a family. I get along great with people of all ages, other dogs, and even cats. So don't waste any time arranging to meet me while I'm still available! I'd love to meet you and shower your face with older-puppy kisses. Tundra is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm tested.     Hello there. I'm Puff the magic dragon, and I'm a very spoiled but sweet and loving domestic medium hair little boy who was born in March 2017. I'm handsomely marked in that I'm a fluffy black smoke color but have tabby markings on my face and legs. My hair is very soft and silky but has no volume. What do I need to give my fur some body and make it thicker -- feline Pantene? I love to cuddle and snuggle with my foster mom. She says that I'm very needy and would love a stay-at-home person, but I say that I'm a big boy and young enough to adjust if my human is not available as much as I'd prefer. I'm just happy to be alive! My sister ... (Read More)and I were turned into the city kill shelter when we were just 3 weeks old. Luckily someone spotted us, scooped us little fluffballs up, and immediately brought us to Busters Friends care. As much as I love my foster home, I want a lifetime home of my very own.     Hi there! My name is Dot, and I'm a sweet, loving tortoiseshell DSH gal who was born in March 2017. My sister Liza and I like to sleep with our foster mom and jump in her lap the minute she sits down. Liza and I are two very lucky girls. Our stray mother had us in a garage and then got locked out when she went out foraging for food. Luckily the homeowners found us and called Buster's Friends. Our future foster human mom just happened to have a nursing feline mom whose kittens were in the process of being weaned. That fabulous feline graciously accepted us and became our new nursing mom, which saved our lives. Liza and I are almost ... (Read More)identical twin tortoiseshell girls. Liza is a true tortie in that she is just black and red; I have some white on my chest and back feet. Now that we are ready for forever homes, we can be adopted either together as a bonded pair or separately. However, two is so much more fun than just one! Animal ID: AG/ LDKhairi (female)

Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hello there! My name is Khairi, and I am a sweet, sociable Classic brown tabby female DSH with big round green eyes who was born in July 2015. Classic tabbies are unusual in that we have marble swirls on our sides instead of mackerel fish stripes. I thrive on attention from my foster mom, who showers me with love. I adore rubbing up against her and being petted and brushed (although I'm not fond of being picked up). I do great with the senior dog and other cats and kittens in my foster home. I had rather hardscrabble beginnings prior to coming to my loving foster home. I had been adopted by a family, but they dumped me outside when they got ... (Read More)a dog. This hurt me because I thought that I was a member of their family. They totally abandoned me and didn't even feed me, so I survived by befriending a convenience-store clerk who fed me for over a year. Unfortunately, he didn't have me spayed or keep me inside, so I had 2 litters of kittens before he panicked and finally got a rescue group involved with my plight. That's when my foster mom stepped in and brought me and my 2 kittens to her home. She knew what to do, so everyone got 'fixed' after I weaned my kits. Now that they have been adopted, it's my turn to find a loving, lifetime family. My foster mom says that it's amazing how full of love I am despite everything I've been through. And despite my time spent fending for myself on the street, I am anything but feral. In order to survive in the cold, cruel world, I had to learn to be alert to danger, so I'm still a little shy or jumpy around new things, people, and animals. That being said, I'm incredibly adaptive and fit right into my foster home with its accompanying menagerie of animals of all ages. I would do well in a calm home with another cat who wants to be my friend and who will snuggle with me. And of course I need at least one human ready to shower me with love like I've become accustomed to receiving from my foster mom. I have so much love to give back, and I'm looking forward to finding a family who will cherish me and keep me safe and warm for the rest of my life! If my story has touched your heart and you think that your home has the perfect environment for me, please come and meet me!!! You'll be so glad that you did. Khairi is updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for her indoor-only home. No de-clawing permitted. Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hello there! My name is Sweet William, and I am a handsome, affectionate buff-tabby-and-white fella who was born about June 2015. I am such a LOVER BOY!!! I purr constantly, eat voraciously, and beg for petting!!! I particularly like my foster mom to run her fingernails up and down my backbone, under my neck, and behind my ears! I have never had my ears rubbed nor my tail scratched before going into foster care, so I am in ecstasy. I also like my foster mom to coo over me in her high-pitched 'kitty-only' voice. I'm a fun-loving dude who loves to play with balls, bottle corks, and chip-bag clips. In my more peaceful moments, I like sitting by ... (Read More)the window and 'talking' to the birds, lizards, and feral cat I see. I'm an affectionate boy who prefers to sleep on my foster mom instead of beside her. Believe it or not, I had rather hardscrabble beginnings before I came into her foster care. I had been living at a trailer park where I had gotten into several nighttime altercations with other un-neutered toms. A nice lady let me briefly come inside her trailer and fed me. She had a cute little intact female, and I had a blast fathering two litters of kittens. The second litter set this lady in a panic, so that's when Buster's Friends came in to neuter me, vaccinate me, and have me tested for FeLV/ FIV. Thank heavens I was negative! I am so sweet and social that I certainly didn't need to be released back into the trailer park. So my foster mom stepped up to bring me to live safely inside full-time and be the recipient of all of her TLC. It was a learning curve, at first, for me to adjust to living strictly indoors. I used to be petrified of the ceiling fan, vacuum cleaner, blow dryer, and outside noises. Plus I would run and hide under the bed when her little munchkin preschool grandchildren came to visit. However, my foster mom was patient with me, and after only a week, I let her grandsons pet me. In less than 3 weeks, I jumped on her bed to sleep with her even when the ceiling fan was whirling above! All I needed was some 'time and love' in order for my craving for people's affection to overcome my skittish fears of the unknown and the brand-new! Now that I have adjusted to my foster home almost completely, I will await finding my forever, lifetime home. I have so much love to give and am so laid-back and friendly that I am confident that I will fit into many families. Sweet William is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for his indoor-only home. No de-clawing permitted. I'm a young guy who was born about May 2016 and dumped on the streets by my family. Fortunately, there are still kind people out there, and a Good Samaritan found me and brought me to a vet in Kingwood. One of their staff is who gave me my moniker Street for obvious reasons. I'm so glad that I have kissed my hardscrabble beginnings goodbye. I'm safely ensconced in my foster home where I've got full food bowls, plenty of water, and lots of supervised exercise. There are even some other nice ... (Read More)dogs for me to play with. As much as I am grateful for my foster home, I'm eager to find my lifetime home.     Hi there! My name is Jerri, and I am a sweet, fun-loving 80-pound female purebred Rottweiler (no papers) who was born in January 2010. I'm 'beautiful, healthy, strong, and still very active,' says my human. I have lived most of my life indoors, so I am a great TV/ sofa companion. Although I am not crate-trained, I'm thoroughly housebroken and not destructive when my human is not home. I do enjoy the outdoors where I can play with my soccer ball and toys or just run around. Although I have never been around cats or small children, I love dogs; I adore treats even more but don't like to share them! (Now who could blame me?) My Good ... (Read More)Samaritan rescuer found me on the street in June 2010 as an abandoned, stray 6-month-old puppy with gauze around my paws and stitches from being spayed. It's been a wonderful life with my rescuer up until now. Unfortunately my beloved human has developed some debilitating health issues and can no longer physically care for me. Regretfully, she is trying to find me a wonderful new lifetime family to cherish me as much as she has. Could yours be that family?     Well, hello! They call me Boogie Girl, and I'm a 15-pound hunk of love! I'm also a sweet, calm dilute calico Turkish Van/ domestic short hair mix who was born about January 2011. I'm mostly white with gray and honey markings on my face mask, ears, and tail. I love to be petted and especially to be scratched right at the base of my tail! Boy, howdy, does my foster mom know what sends me into a swoon of ecstasy! I like to accompany my foster mom when she's lying in bed reading mystery novels. Just in case she's scared, I reassure her by resting my head and front paws on her tummy! Things were not always so tranquil for me. I was happily ... (Read More)adopted as a kitten from Buster's Friends but somehow ended up at a kill shelter. Man, oh man, those barking dogs stressed me out -- not to mention my being uprooted from what I thought was my forever home. No worries as I have now adjusted to the sights and sounds of my foster home. As much as I like it here, I realize that it's just a temporary stopping-off place for me as my foster mom is trying to find me a LIFETIME home this time around. Since I'm no longer a kitten like before, my foster mom thinks it best that I be adopted into a family without children, or with older children or, at least, gentle children. Could you be that special someone who is looking for a kitty to cuddle with you and to palpate your tummy ever so quietly? Then, I'm your girl!     Hi there! I'm an ultra-sweet, laid-back, black-and-white-tuxedo lap kitty named Caroline who was born in September 2016. Compared to some of the pesky, over-active foster kittens with whom I share my home, I am a calm and angelic princess. I'm content to cuddle beside my foster mom, and I'm so confident that she loves me that I don't have to be on top of her (like - ahem -some pushy little boy kitties whom I know!). I'm very petite, and my foster mom says that my coat is so sleek that I look exotic. I'm beautifully marked with white eyebrows and whiskers against my otherwise black face and with a white bib and mittens. My foster mom is so ... (Read More)glad that a sweet little girl like me just appeared at her house as a stray. I was hungry and attracted to the food she puts out for her feral outdoor kitties. Nobody in the neighborhood came looking or advertising for me, so my foster mom scooped me up and brought me inside to safety. As much as I like the love and security of my foster home, I'm ready for my very own home where I can have a one-on-one (or two) relationship with my new family. I promise to be a wonderful companion, and I hope you will cherish me by keeping me inside my new forever home.     Hi my name is Sammie! I'm a very sweet, handsome seal point Snowshoe/ Siamese mix big boy with a white bib and four white paws who was born in November 2015. Just look at my Frank Sinatra baby blues! I am a little bit shy, and it took me awhile to adjust to my foster home, but my foster meowmy was patient and kind to me. Since I thrived on all of her TLC, after awhile, I came out of my shell, and my foster meowmy was delighted to find out that I love getting petted and will roll over for more! She thinks that if someone takes me home on a trial basis, they will soon see how ultra-sweet I am and much I love human attention. I'm a bit afraid ... If you don't have another kitty, just ask Foster Meowmy! She has lots of my kitty friends whom you can adopt to keep me company. Because I am a little bit shy, Foster Meowmy feels that it would be best that I go to a home without young children because loud noises might scare me. Would you like to give me my furrrever home where I'm given plenty of time to acclimate and gain my confidence as well as play with other kitties?!?     A big Texas howdy to you! My name is Rocky, and I got my name because of the raccoon-like stripes on my tail. I am a Turkish Van/ DSH mix dude who is mostly white with gray tabby markings and who was born in May 2016. I'm a friendly, sociable fella who loves to be petted and then turns on my loud purr motor to show my contentment. But I'm no couch potato! No siree! Like a typical teenager, I'm active and love to bat around balls with bells as well as stalk my catnip mice. And I think it's a stitch when I jump in a box or a flower pot and peek out. I was rescued by a nice lady who heard me, a wet and bedraggled 6-week-old orphan stray ... (Read More)kitten at the time, crying plaintively outside her window after a rainstorm. Fortunately she gave me a safe haven in her home, got me fully vetted, and planned to keep me. Only one problem: her senior resident dog doesn't like cats in general and is afraid of me -- imagine -- a little 24-once tyke! I try to make friends with the old girl by playing with her and licking her face, but she will have none of either! She usually just gets up and moves when I come around unless I just want to sleep against her back. To make matters worse, the dog has been exhibiting some neurotic behavior since I arrived. So even though my rescuer loves me dearly, she has made the difficult decision that she needs to find me a new home. I understand because the dog was there first, and I'm the newbie in the home. My rescuer promises me that she will find me an equally loving home where I can be the outgoing and active young cat that I should be allowed to be. Just think what would happen if that adopter were you: you'd get to hear how my purr motor sounds like a perking coffeepot!     Hi my name is Paris! I am a gorgeously marked mostly white-with-black-eye-patches Catahoula/ Pointer/ Pit mix female who weighs 40 pounds and who was born about May 2015. I'm a very energetic 'teenager' who loves to go to the park and play with other medium-sized dogs. (I don't do well with small yappy dogs, however.) I especially love my rope toy! I was found foraging for food as a lone stray in a park and then was turned into a shelter. It was my lucky day when my future foster mom saw me and rescued me because I didn't like that place! As much as I love my foster home, I would love a home of my very own. If it were an active home with ... (Read More)lots going on, that would be terrific. I'd do great with older kids but, since I still jump a bit, I might knock over a small child by mistake. I live in a foster home with cats, but my foster mom says that I'm 'marginal' but not impossible with cats; I just need more training, and right now she wouldn't leave me alone with the cats. I'm crate trained, so now all I need is my forever home! Paris is updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm tested. Plus I have a white bib, long white gloves, high white go-go boots, and a white tummy! Are you surprised that a Maine Coon is black and white? Yes, I'm in blissful ecstasy when she gives me head rubs! But I'm no couch potato! I love to play, especially with the feather toys that my foster mom swirls around me. In fact, I could play all day! The only caveat about me is that I probably will need special food so the my stools stay firm, but is that a lot to ask for a fantastic girl like me? Sad to say, life has not always been a bowl of cherries before I came to my foster home. I was living outside at an apartment complex. A nice man was feeding me, but the other outdoor cats didn't like my hanging around their food. They bullied me, so the man asked Buster's Friends to find me a wonderful forever home. As much as I love my foster home where I'm cherished, where there's soft warm beds to sleep on, and where the food bowls are always brimming full, I'd still like a home of my very own.     Howdy, I'm Constance aka the moustache kitten because of my Charlie Chaplin moustache across my white muzzle and nose blaze. I'm a sweet little tuxedo girl who was born in June 2016 and trapped as a feral when I was young enough to be socialized to humans. I've decided that coming indoors is the best thing that ever happened to me. I now love being petted and purr contentedly in my foster meowmy's lap. I get along great with the other cats in my foster home; just look in my photo how I cuddle with a younger foster kitten. Nevertheless, I will need to go to a quiet home with no loud small children. Animal ID: Ho DyMadmartigan (male)

Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi, let me introduce myself. I'm Madmartigan, and I was named after the disgraced knight in the 1988 fantasy film 'Willow.' (He was far too restless, reckless and truant as a child but grew up to be a victor despite the hard times that he endured.) I had my own hardscrabble times in that I was a stray kitten playing outside an apartment complex. Like my usual friendly self, I ran right up to my soon-to-be foster mom to rub against her leg and play. She tried to find where I belonged but to no avail. So she gave me a safe haven and determined to find me a lifetime home. I am a very fun, sweet, and entertaining little guy who was born about ... (Read More)December 2015. I'm a very dapper and handsome buff tabby with white DSH mix. I guess you already know what outgoing and engaging personalities marmalade tabbies are known for, and I am no exception. I'm the perfect balance of fun and loveable. I have tons of energy and am very curious. I live to play and wrestle and will turn anything into a toy or game. You can't help but enjoy watching me play. With me around, who needs a TV? Yet I have an ever-so-sweet side. I am very affectionate and sociable with people and just love attention. When I'm worn out from my kitten playtime antics, I turn into mush, demand love, and give kisses. There's nothing I love more than to snuggle in a warm lap and turn on my purr motor in blissful contentment. Just one warning. I can play aggressively, especially with other cats. My foster mom doesn't known whether or not I get along with dogs, but she feels that I should be in a single-cat home with no small children. Otherwise I'm a real charmer! Won't you come meet me? I guarantee that you will fall in love with my beautiful cameo-colored markings as well as my Personality Plus with its perfect blend of sugar and energetic spice!Madmartigan is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for his indoor-only home.     Hello there! My name is Summer, and I'm one of those relatively rare female orange tabbies who also has a white bib and white boots. I'm a sweet but shy kitten who was born in April 2016 and who warms up quickly since I adore petting and brushing. Plus I just love to snuggle in your lap. I love it when my foster home is quiet and calm because I run and hide when I am startled by a loud noise that scares me. But don't get me wrong. I'm just as playful as any other kitten my age. I love to run and get rowdy with balls with bells and catnip mice as well as other cats. I need someone who will gently build trust with me until I feel comfortable ... Bombay Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Panther is a beautiful Bombay/ black domestic short hair mix male cat who was born in winter of 2013. He is his foster mom's favorite cat (which says something considering the many competitors) because he is so sweet and loving. It's not surprising that Bombay mixes are sometimes called Velcro kitties because they are so sociable and like people so much. Not only is he good with 2-legged creatures but also the 4-legged varieties: he does fine around other cats as well as the older big dog in his foster home. Panther's only caveat is that he is hyper-sensitive to fleas: even one flea bite causes him to scratch and consequently to lose hair. ... (Read More)This is easily remedied by just being very diligent to stay on schedule with his flea preventative. Then, true to his name, he has a soft, sleek, and gleaming coat that is like black patent leather. He also has the Bombay mix's mesmerizing round copper-penny eyes that look right through you and make your heart melt. Like Bombay mixes, he has a long, lithe, agile body despite his deceptively heavy, muscular body. Won't you be the one who gives this chip of onyx his lifetime home? Please don't be superstitious of black cats! You know, Groucho Marx once said, 'A black cat crossing your path signifies that the animal is going somewhere.' Buster's Friends makes a concerted effort to rescue black cats and kittens from shelters because they are five times more likely to be euthanized than any other color of cat. However, many people who have had a black or Bombay mix cat before end up adopting another one because they seem to have such wonderful personalities and are emotionally stable and well balanced. To find out more about Bombay mixes, watch the 2-3 minute You Tube video that appeared on Animal Planet by Googling 'Cats 101 Bombay.' Panther is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for his indoor-only home. His adoption fee is $100, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends.
