Hello there! They call me Nate, and I am a handsome gray-tabby-with-white DSH boy who was born in October 2016. Don't you just love my white bib and 4 white mittens? I am a sweet boy who loves to have my head rubbed! A PetSmart employee found me as a stray 2-month-old kitten and brought me to Buster's Friends. I hadn't yet had a lot of human contact, but my foster meowmy is doing a good job making up for my lack of human socialization as a tyke. Now I'm ready for my forever hone, and I promise that with your one-on-one attention (which is hard to get in a foster home with lots of other kitties), I will transform into a bona fide people ... His adoption fee is $125 for kittens 9 months old and younger, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends.     Hi there! They call me Sunshine because I am a friendly, bundle-of-happiness tortoiseshell DSH little girl with personality plus who was born in October 2016. I was turned in to a shelter as stray orphan kitten when I was just three weeks old. I was so happy that my future foster meowmy rescued me and bottle fed me 24/7, or I wouldn't have survived. I show everyone how glad I am to be alive! I'm always bouncy and the first of the foster kittens to greet my foster meowmy. I am fascinated by computer card games and love to watch from my foster meowmy's lap as long as she will play. I also love to rough and tumble with my young kitten ... (Read More)roommates. I also get along with the big, friendly resident dog in my foster home. When 7-year-old twin boys came over to my foster home recently, I let them carry me all around. I just know that I will be a wonderful addition to any home, so waste no time in coming to meet me, a little drop of sunshine! You will be so glad you did because you won't leave without me!     My name is Millie, and I am a sweet, pretty tabico DSH gal who was born in April of 2016. A tabico is a tabby-calico or a gray tabby with orange tabby patches as well as plenty of white. I have a white chin, white bib, white tummy, and white mittens. I had rather hardscrabble beginnings in that I was a socialized stray kitty who was foraging for food with a colony of feral cats. I was trapped with the rest of the ferals to be fixed and ear-tipped, but the folks at the shelter where I was taken soon realized that I was too social to be a feral cat. Bombay Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

My name is Casper, and I know when you saw my name, you expected me to be Casper the friendly white ghost. Instead I'm a friendly, sweet, laid-back Bombay/ black DSH mix boy who was born in September 2014. I guess whoever named me had their tongue in their cheek! I may also have a little Siamese in me because I have slightly crossed eyes. At any rate, I'm a relaxed kitty who fits in great with all the other kitties and even the two little doggies in my foster home. I was adopted from Busters's Friends as a kitten, but a Good Samaritan noticed that I'd been hanging out at a motel parking lot for several weeks. She took me to be scanned and ... (Read More)found out that, although my adopters had not registered me, Buster's Friends had originally purchased my microchip. I'm so glad that Buster's Friends loves black cats and agreed to find me a new home that will be a lifetime indoor-only one this time. Hey, I don't want any more of those hardscrabble days dumpster-diving as a stray! No siree! As much as I like it here in my foster home with brimming food bowls and plenty of love, I'd really like to have a home of my own. If you want a good loving boy, why don't you arrange to meet me? Please don't be superstitious of black cats! Buster's Friends makes a concerted effort to rescue black cats and kittens from shelters because they are five times more likely to be euthanized than any other color of cat. However, many people who have had a black or Bombay mix cat before end up adopting another one because they seem to have such wonderful personalities and are emotionally stable and well balanced. Health: Spayed

My name is Wendy, and I am a sweet, beautiful flame point Siamese/ white DSH mix petite girl with big sapphire blue eyes who was born in March 2016. I am very petite, so I look younger than I actually am. My foster meowmy says that I'm a nice mix of playful and sociable because I get along with the people, other kitties, and even the little dogs in my foster home. My favorite toys are my catnip mouse and the turbo scratcher with the ball that rolls around a circular scratching pad. I guess you're wondering why a pretty girl like me is listed as special needs. You see, life has not always been a bowl of cherries for me. The vet thinks that I ... (Read More)was hit by a car, and this resulted in my legs' getting banged up. Now I'm ready for my lifetime home, so if you want a sweet, special girl with beautiful blue eyes, why don't you meet me? Domestic Cat    Age: Young Kitten

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Well, hello there! My name is Paul, and I'm a sweet and very affectionate orange-tabby-with-white fella who was born in September 2016. Even though I'm your typical fun-loving, playful kitten, I must confess that my favorite thing is snuggling and turning on my purr motor to the highest decibel. I will nap and cuddle with anyone who's willing to hold me. Since I love other cats, if I can't find a human to snuggle with, I'll just curl up with one of my feline foster mates. Let me tell you why I'm a special needs kitten. I am perfectly healthy except that I suffer from a condition called Cerebellar Hypoplasia. I have a mild/ moderate case ... (Read More)which makes me wobbly and clumsy, so I fall down a lot. But I'm like the Unsinkable Molly Brown because I always pick myself up! I really don't realize that there's anything different with me from the other foster house cats. My foster meowmy says that my irrepressible spirit is an inspiration to her during the hard times in her life! 'CH' also causes jerky movements, head tremors (especially when I'm excited playing on my turbo scratcher toy!), and generally uncoordinated motion (high stepping and waddling). Mind you, this doesn't affect my being able to run, jump, pounce, climb stairs, and play or use the litter box. I am very capable as well as capricious and require little extra care. I mostly just need a SAFE indoor-only home that has plenty of carpet (as opposed to hard floors) for traction to minimize my falling down. My foster mommy doesn't want me to ever hurt myself! The vet assures her that I have a long, happy life ahead of me: even though this condition is permanent, it should not get worse. So I'm shopping for a kindhearted and compassionate adopter who can look past my slight imperfections and who wants a little tabby boy who's all snuggle and a huge purr machine; however, this adopter also should be mindful of my home environment needs. There's got to be someone who fits the bill out there! In exchange, I promise to bond closely with that special someone and pour out a lifetime of intense love and gratitude. That seems to be the standard modus operandi for all CH kitties! Heck, what's better for you than a lap kitten whose purring sounds like a perking coffeepot? So don't you want to meet me? I guarantee that you'll fall in love with me! Paul is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for his indoor-only home. And the Turks would say that the black spots on my back are the thumbprints of God! My fur is soft as a bunny's, so it's a delight to stroke me. I love being safe inside with brimming food and water bowls. No more hardscrabble life for me. No siree! I love exploring all around the house, where the dogs introduced themselves to me. I think they're okay, but I'm not so sure yet on the other foster cat. One thing for sure, I soak up all the attention my foster family gives me!     Hi there! My name is Oliver, and I am a relaxed but fun-loving orange tabby with white/ DSH mix fella who was born in August 2016. Even though I'm laid-back, I still love to play with with furry mice and feather wand toys as well as the other kittens in my foster home.     My name is Spangle, and I am a sweet, playful torbie DSH gal who was born in September 2016. Torbie is a fancy way to say that I am a brown tabby with splashes of pale orange. In fact, it looks like I got sprinkled with caramel in a candy factory. I am a well rounded kitten who loves to run, play, and chase toys. Come meet me today!     Hello there! My name is Duchess, and I am an adorable Turkish Van/ white DSH mix little girl who was born in September 2016. I'm mostly white with silver tabby ears, face, and tail. My most striking feature is my big butterfly on my right side! I'm super sweet and loveable because I was well socialized to people as a kitten. You see, my brother Snowbell and I were rescued by a Good Samaritan and taken to the city shelter when we were 2 weeks old. My future foster meowmy saw us and brought us home where she bottle fed us until we were weaned at 6 weeks of age. I love to play with catnip mice, balls with bells, as well as feather toys, and I ... (Read More)even play fetch with my favorite toys! I get along great with the other cats and dogs in my foster home. Now I'm ready for my lifetime home. Maine Coon Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

They call me Panda, and I'm a sweet, exquisitely marked tuxedo Maine Coon/ domestic medium hair mix girl who was born about January 2016. I have a big fluff of a tail that I love to swish around, and don't you just love my white milk moustache that gives me a big white smile on my otherwise black face? Plus I have a white bib, long white gloves, high white go-go boots, and a white tummy! Are you surprised that a Maine Coon is black and white? Then watch the video that appeared on Animal Planet by googling 'Cats 101 Maine Coon,' and you will find that we come in all colors from black to white with tabby in between! I am an affectionate gal ... (Read More)who loves to cuddle up in my foster mom's lap and turn on my purr motor, which sounds like a perking coffeepot. Yes, I'm in blissful ecstasy when she gives me head rubs! But I'm no couch potato! I love to play, especially with the feather toys that my foster mom swirls around me. In fact, I could play all day! Sad to say, life has not always been a bowl of cherries before I came to my foster home. I was living outside at an apartment complex. A nice man was feeding me, but the other outdoor cats didn't like my hanging around their food. They bullied me, so the man asked Buster's Friends to find me a wonderful forever home. As much as I love my foster home where I'm cherished, where there's soft warm beds to sleep on, and where the food bowls are always brimming full, I'd still like a home of my very own. Are you my lifetime companion who has just been waiting for a sweet fluffy girl like me to keep you company? Then come meet me and fall in love! Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

A big Texas howdy to you! My name is Jake, and I am an ever-so-sweet, loving, and stunningly handsome 78-pound chocolate brown lab mix who was born about January 2015. Man, oh man, do I ever love the attention that my foster parents shower on me! I'm very well behaved and stay in my crate while they are at work. I get along fantastically with large dogs and kids, but I'm not so great with cats or small dogs. My life has not always been a big bowl of cherries. When I was about a year old, I was hit by a car near the UH campus. I was already in really bad shape -- weak, skinny, and very tired from being a stray -- and had been fighting for ... (Read More)my life for a long time when my future foster mom found me injured to boot. Bless her soul, she took me, just a stray, to the ER vet and then, when I got home with her, was an awesome canine Florence Nightingale who nursed me back to health. Daily she changed my bandages on my leg, and every time it hurt a lot. But I endured it because I knew she loved me and was taking good care of me. My rehabilitation lasted for a long time, but, thanks to my foster parents' nurturing and tender, loving care, my wounds are healed and I have finally fully recovered. I love to go on walks with my foster parents, but my former injuries preclude my playing too hard or accompanying my human as a jogging partner. No, let's just keep the exercise slow and easy-going. I get a little scared when I'm away from my foster home, so I need a patient human companion who understands that I am healing from physical trauma as well as the emotional trauma of abandonment at a young age when I struggled to stay alive as a stray. But every day I'm improving and getting more confident! I am all ready and waiting for a lifetime home where I will have a soft bed and a compassionate someone to love me forever. I'm really a great young adult chocolate lab mix who is anticipating a lifetime of fun and bonding with my new family. I will gladly reward all the attention they give me by wetting their faces with kisses! Won't you come meet me today? I know you'll fall in love with me the minute you see what a magnificent dude I am! Jake is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm tested. His adoption fee is $150, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Jake, and we can arrange for you to meet him. Buster's Friends is committed to reducing the number of animals who are surrendered to shelters and to assuring that fewer animals face the possibility of euthanasia. Courtesy postings for the community is one way that we can achieve this by providing a platform in which animals like Jake remain safe while still being widely seen until he is placed in a permanent home.     Hi there! My name is Milly, and I'm a beautiful, demure Bombay/ black DSH mix little girl who was born in June 2016. I have the typical Bombay mix's sleek, black patent-leather coat and copper-penny eyes. I like to wrestle with my twin brother Bear as well as my other siblings Finnegan and Liam. I'm the only female of my littermates, but I have no trouble keeping up with those rambunctious dudes. However, I'm not fond of dogs.     My name is Big Foot, and I am an affectionate, gorgeous Russian Blue/ silver DSH mix boy who was born in March 2015. I have the Russian Blue's signature sleek steely-gray coat, lithe body, beautiful green eyes, and cobra-shaped face with a perpetual smile. I am a complete Velcro cat and will cuddle with you the minute you sit down. My foster meowmy says that she'd be hard-pressed to find a sweeter, more loving kitty than I am. I love being with my humans, but I am also good with other cats as well as dogs. We Russian Blue mixes are known to be lovable, loyal, gentle, quiet, well-behaved, super intelligent, and clean. Now how can you beat ... (Read More)that? My long legs and tail as well as my lean body give me an exquisite, stately, elegant aura. To find out more about Russian Blue mixes, please watch the 3-minute You Tube video that appeared on Animal Planet by googling 'Cats 101 Russian Blue.' Life has not always been as idyllic as it is now in my foster home. I had a bit of a rough start in life since my foster meowmy had to bail me out of the city kill shelter. Even after that, I struggled with a strange swelling of my foot that is responsible for my strange moniker, Big Foot. The vet thought that I was bitten by something but couldn't figure out what. I guess you're wondering why I am a special needs kitty? Well, it seems that being a typical Russian Blue mix, I get stressed out with any environmental change and a chronic upper respiratory infection rears its ugly head every time I try to find a new home. This manifests itself with nasal congestion and discharge that can only be helped by the vet's giving me nasal flushes. I need someone who will be patient with me, allow me to settle in at my new home, and if I get congested, take me to the vet for a nasal flush, which is not particularly expensive. It's not much to ask, but some people just are not interested in my being so much trouble getting settled in. However, if you want the sweetest cat ever, you should come to meet me! Foser meowmy says that I am definitely worth it! I'm sure that I will mesmerize you with my gorgeous emerald-green eyes as well as my gentle disposition and that you will take me home with you!     Hi, my name is Joelle! I'm a sweet, friendly, and affectionate black and white (petite 6-pound) tuxedo girl who was born in June 2011. I'm beautifully marked with a white blaze, muzzle, bib, and four white boots. I just love to let people hold me, cuddle me, and carry me around. Now how many kitties let you do that? Foster meowmy isn't exactly sure what my last 5 years have been like, but somehow I ended up abandoned in a pet store. It just broke my heart because I thought I was a member of their family too. I'm sure that my family had to move overseas or had financial reverses because otherwise who would drop off a loving 'ragdoll' girl ... (Read More)like me? Although I'm not a big fan of being alone, I'm relegated to living in the bathroom in my foster home because being loose in the noisy chaos with all the other foster pets upsets me a bit. Gosh, I'd love to get out of this bathroom prison and be in a quieter lifetime home without too many other pets and without noisy young children. For sure I just want a home where I will never be abandoned again. Would you like to give me my furrrever home?!? Joelle is updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for her indoor-only home. No de-clawing permitted.     My name is Vincent, and I am just the coolest cat ever! I am a big (12-pound), dapper tuxedo boy with a dark, steely-gray coat with white mittens, blaze, bib, tummy, and boots who was born in October 2013. I am Mr. Personality because I do funny things like hang out in the sink and pull myself along the stair banister. I don't know why that I think it's fun, but it is. You might find me sprawled belly-up on the floor because I'm just inviting a belly rub. I'm just a happy-go lucky fella who's all-round playful -- I love people and get along great with other cats in my foster home. The foster dogs scared me a little a first, but I got used to ... (Read More)them after awhile. I and am lucky to be here. A Good Samaritan found me as a stray and then realized I had a tipped ear. This means that someone in my past must have neutered me and released me back out to fend for myself. I really don't remember, but it doesn't matter! My recent rescuer realized that somewhere along the way I must've been someone's pet because I'm just too outgoing and friendly to be a feral cat. So Buster's Friends took me in because they know I need a safe home to call mine forever. So as much as I love my foster home, I've decided that I deserve a loving forever home! If you just happen to be searching for a cool dude, give me a chance to show you how I'm more fun than a barrelful of monkeys. Everyone needs a kitty like me who will put a smile on your face with my spectacular antics. Come meet me today!     Howdy, I'm Constance aka the moustache kitten because of my Charlie Chaplin moustache across my white muzzle and nose blaze. I'm a sweet little tuxedo girl who was born in June 2016 and trapped as a feral when I was young enough to be socialized to humans. I've decided that coming indoors is the best thing that ever happened to me. I now love being petted and purr contentedly in my foster meowmy's lap. I get along great with the other cats in my foster home; just look in my photo how I cuddle with a younger foster kitten. Nevertheless, I will need to go to a quiet home with no loud small children. I have the Bombay mix's soft, sleek, and gleaming coat that is like black patent leather as well as mesmerizing round copper-penny eyes. I do great with the other cats and am 'okay' with the dogs in my foster home. I was surrendered to a high kill shelter by my family because they decided they didn't want me any more. Hint: feed me little bits of deli oven-baked turkey, and I will be your best friend forever! (Smile) Won't you give me a chance? Everyone deserves a chance!     Hi, let me introduce myself. I'm Madmartigan, and I was named after the disgraced knight in the 1988 fantasy film 'Willow.' (He was far too restless, reckless and truant as a child but grew up to be a victor despite the hard times that he endured.) I had my own hardscrabble times in that I was a stray kitten playing outside an apartment complex. Like my usual friendly self, I ran right up to my soon-to-be foster mom to rub against her leg and play. She tried to find where I belonged but to no avail. You can't help but enjoy watching me play. With me around, who needs a TV? Yet I have an ever-so-sweet side. I am very affectionate and sociable with people and just love attention. When I'm worn out from my kitten playtime antics, I turn into mush, demand love, and give kisses. There's nothing I love more than to snuggle in a warm lap and turn on my purr motor in blissful contentment. Just one warning. I can play aggressively, especially with other cats. My foster mom doesn't known whether or not I get along with dogs, but she feels that I should be in a single-cat home with no small children. Otherwise I'm a real charmer! Won't you come meet me?     Let me introduce myself. I'm Jude, a loveable, eager-to-please, intelligent male brown/ brindle and white American bulldog mix who was born in 2013. I'm in quite a pickle because I've grown bigger than my owner expected, and she can no longer take care of a dog who weighs 75 pounds. I do great with the older kids and the bichon in my home, but I guess she thought I would stay more of a medium size. I'm fully trained and know how to walk nicely on a leash, sit, and stay. I'm obedient and listen well to commands. Unfortunately, my owner didn't keep up with my training, so I've gotten a little rusty and need some brushing up, but my personal ... (Read More)trainer at the Dog House Pet Salon has promised my adopter a free private lesson! Usually I do great with the other dogs in day care, but -- true confessions -- I got off lead one day and attacked a small dog. I can't explain why I did this. Nobody can figure it out because I got along great with the Bichon in my home. I am a bit of a nervous nelly and can be anxious and unsure of myself at times. Sometimes those little guys can be so ferocious that it's scary to me! You know, they can really bark up a storm! But I do want you to have all of the facts. My original dog trainer thinks that I need a lot of structure to help with my anxiety. You know what I mean -- so I can know what to expect because I'm in a routine. I'd do great in a home with just one other dog and a family with older kids. Won't you please come meet me? If I don't find a home fairly soon, I'm afraid that my owner will walk me across the rainbow bridge, i.e. euthanize me. And all because I just grew too big!! I'm a sweet but shy kitten who was born in April 2016 and who warms up quickly since I adore petting and brushing. Plus I just love to snuggle in your lap. Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Black and white domestic medium hair Pepe, born in July 2011, and his best friend, Lynx-point Siamese mix Fu, born in August 2012, find themselves in the precarious position of needing to find a new home because their human companion died. These fellas are strongly bonded to each other and really need to be adopted together. But they are no couch potatoes! These frisky boys each love to sneak up and pounce on the other one when least expected! Yet they love their one-on-one time with their humans, and seem to crave getting scratched and rubbed in their favorite 'sweet spots.' Both can be lap cats in their own right. Pepe was adopted as a ... (Read More)stray when he was about one year old because he kept coming every day to the back patio to get petted and loved on. This handsome boy has stunning markings that look like wide white bands on black, and his piercing green eyes will take your breath away. Pepe is a very intelligent and loyal cat. Whenever you sit down, expect him to be in your lap shortly thereafter. He loves ear and chin rubs and will force his head under your hand so you can be sure and rub those ears! He's playful too and loves hunting for toys that he's probably hidden himself. Fu was adopted as a kitten from a local shelter. He is beautifully marked with lynx (tabby) points and has mesmerizing blue eyes. He is a playful, charismatic cat who absolutely loves belly rubs. He likes to run ahead of you, throw himself down on the floor, and stretch out on his back, and then he fully expects you to stop what you are doing to rub his belly. Fu also loves to play 'soccer' by chasing paper wads and batting them around. He is shy at first, but when he gets to know you, he will curl up next to you on the couch. When he starts purring, it sounds like an engine is running! These loveable and loving guys would make a wonderful pair for a family who will cherish them like their former human companion did. Won't you open your heart and home to them? They will more than repay you with their entertaining antics and probably lower your blood pressure while they're at it. Fu and Pepe are updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, will be microchipped prior to adoption, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for their indoor-only home.     Let me introduce myself. My name is Kiki, and I'm a super sweet, laid-back, strikingly marked female black and white tuxedo DSH who was born in early 2012. I have a white inverted V on my muzzle as well as white chest, front legs, tummy, and boots on my back legs. I have a black mask, cape on my back, and tail. I get along great with other kitties. I have quite a hard-luck story. I was adopted as a kitten several years ago but ended up as a stray on the dangerous streets. Somehow I was severely injured and was picked up by SPCA ambulance. I'm so glad that they scanned me for a microchip, and I was traced back to Buster's Friends, who had ... (Read More)purchased my chip. (My family had not registered their contact information for my chip, so it was impossible to find my home.) Buster's Friends rushed over to take me back and nurse me back to health. When they got me, my whole side was wide open from a huge gash. I almost didn't make it because the infection was so bad internally that the wound wouldn't heal. But I was determined to survive, and that is what helped save me. I know that I deserve a loving home the next time around. I want a family who will love me, register my chip, and keep me safe from now on. I hope that my glamorous looks and heart-wrenching story have intrigued you because I want to meet you! Kiki is updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for her indoor-only home. Her adoption fee is $100, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. You see, born in about May 2015, a pregnant teenage Elsa ended up at the pound; fortunately she was rescued into Buster's Friends' foster care and gave birth to four kittens safely in her foster home. I like to snuggle up to my foster mom so she can be sure and hear that my load purring sounds like a perking coffee pot. I'm unusual because most ginger tabbies are male, and I'm all 'sugar and spice and everything nice.' My palette is almost the color of a cameo -- soft apricot with my white bib, mittens, and high go-go boots. I will dazzle your eyes -- like you would expect from any ruby! And I'm playful too. My laser mouse is my favorite toy. I need to be the only cat in the house, but if a gentle dog will leave me ... (Read More)alone, I will be fine. I was surrendered to a shelter because my human companion's new husband was allergic to me, but I am staying positive and just know that my next home will be for my lifetime. If you're looking for an affectionate, attentive companion, I am PURRFECT. Ruby is updated on shots, spayed, dewormed, microchipped, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for her indoor-only home. Her adoption fee is $100, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the email contact button so we can arrange for you to meet this rare and delightful red tabby girl. (Less)
